Estimating

Flooring calculators

Four tools for working out roughly what a job needs: floor area with a waste allowance, cartons, cove base lengths and adhesive quantity. Carton coverage comes from Oakline’s catalog, so the figures match what actually ships.

Estimates only — confirm with your installer before ordering

These tools do arithmetic on the numbers you type. They cannot see your rooms, your layout, the direction the planks will run, how much gets lost to cuts around obstacles, or how a high-variation floor needs sorting. A professional installer measuring on site is the only reliable way to arrive at an order quantity.

Order short and the job stops while more is sourced — and a later batch may not match. Order long and you have paid for material you cannot return. Neither is a figure worth guessing at.

Room dimensions

Measure at the widest points. Add a row for each area, and for alcoves or bays.

Waste allowance

Cuts and offcuts mean you buy more than the floor area. 5–10% is common for a square room laid straight; more for diagonal layouts, angled walls, or a high-variation floor where planks get sorted.
